On December 2022, Amex teamed up with NBA2K to create a four-day immersive pop-up experience in New York where fans of 2K had the chance to build new skills in their game. We were given four weeks to built an experience to support the success of the event. We decided to create a fully interactive basketball court with markers, steps guide, and animations; so fans had the chance to create iconic NBA shots recreated in the game, in real life.

Working with a team of developers, animators, and designers, we created an immersive experience; from the registration website both mobile and desktop, animated kiosk display for rules and queue information, a fully working interactive court with all the finishing animations and markers, plus a nice little surprise for the fans participating. We planted 3 different cameras around the court that recorded the last 10 seconds of gameplay that we wrapped up in a nice little vertical video grading the score of the play, which can be downloaded and shared to social media.
Overall the experience was a huge success, we got 1035 people trying it out in the span of 4 days, averaging 53 plays per hours (which means it was in use non-stop since it takes 1 minute for 1 playthrough). Read more about the event on adweek.
